Welcoming to Wikipedia Beta for Android! To test new features, you can install Wikipedia Beta alongside the current version of Wikipedia Android. We will use your feedback to fix bugs and determine which features we should focus on.

Please help us improve this app by leaving feedback here or sending a note to our mailing list, mobile-android-wikipedia@wikimedia.org.

Features:

Explore feed: A list of recommended and frequently-updated Wikipedia content that is displayed on your home screen. This includes current events, trending articles and events on this date in history. You can choose the content you wish to see or alter the order in which they appear.

You can personalize the app by choosing from Light, Dark and Black themes.

Voice-integrated Search: Find what you are looking for quickly with a prominent search bar at top of the app. This includes voice-enabled searches on your phone.

Language support: You can easily switch between any language-support Wikipedia article by either changing the language in the current article or changing your search language while you are searching.

Preview links: Tap on an article and you can preview it without leaving the current article. To open a link in a new tab you can press and hold the button. This allows you to continue reading the article without losing your place. You can switch to the new tab whenever you are ready.

Table of Contents: Swipe left on any article to open the table of contents. This allows you to jump to specific sections of articles easily.

Reading lists: You can organize the articles that you read into reading lists. These lists are accessible even offline. You can create as many lists and as many descriptions as you want. Then, add articles from any language wiki to them.

Syncing: Allow synchronization of reading lists with your Wikipedia account.

Image gallery: Click on an image to see it full-screen in high resolution. You can also swipe to browse additional images.

Definitions from Wiktionary: To see Wiktionary’s definition of a word, tap-and-hold the highlighted word and then tap the “Define” button.
