This app shows you exactly what you see as you look up at stars. Just by pointing your phone at the sky, you can identify stars, planets and comets in real-time in the sky above. It is a simple-to-use and minimalist astronomy app that can be used by both adults and children to explore the night sky.

Stellarium Mobile features:

A night sky simulation that accurately simulates stars and planets at any time, date or location is available. Explore a variety of stars, nebulas galaxies, star clusters, and other deep-sky objects. Zoom in on real-life images of the Milky Way and Deep Sky Objects. You can see how people in other parts of the globe see stars by choosing the shapes and illustrations for the constellations. Track artificial satellites including the International Space Station. With realistic sunset, sunrise and atmosphere reflection, you can simulate the landscape and atmosphere. Explore 3D renderings of the major planets in the solar system and their satellites. To preserve your eyes’ adaptation to darkness, you can observe the sky in night mode (red). Stellarium Mobile includes in-app purchases that allow you to upgrade to Stellarium Plus. This upgrade will allow you to see objects fainter than magnitude 8 (compared to magnitude 8 in the base version) as well as advanced observing capabilities.

You can reach the limit of your knowledge by diving into a vast collection of stars, galaxies galaxies, nebulas, star clusters, and other deep-sky objects. You can observe in the field even without an internet connection using a reduced set of data: 2,000,000 stars, 2,000,000 Deep Sky Objects and 10k asteroids. You can control your telescope via Bluetooth or WIFI. Any GOTO telescope compatible to NexStar, SynScan and LX200 protocols. To prepare your observing sessions with the advanced observation tools, you can predict celestial object transit times and observer observability.
