Starfall.com is a public-supported nonprofit that makes the Starfall I’m reading FREE app possible. Starfall.com encourages exploration, positive reinforcement and play through its activities.
Starfall I’m Reading improves comprehension and fluency when reading to beginning and advanced readers. This app will assist your child in learning how to read and learn to read.
This app contains stories that use the most common words found in print. Stories and activities reinforce high frequency words, also known as “sight words”, in sentences instead of in isolation. The young reader will be able to make a meaningful association and commit each word to memory. To help develop fluent reading skills, the stories can be read aloud. The AutoRead feature can be disabled or enabled by users. For fluency, AutoRead can be disabled. Speaker buttons will be provided.
The app contains:
*Plays and Fiction/NonFiction, Comics and Folk Tales, Greek Myths, Chinese Fables, and Comics sections of the Starfall website.
*Standard vocabulary that uses words most commonly found in print.
*AutoRead is used to model fluent reading. It can be disabled when your child is able read independently.
