Do you need to refresh your knowledge on named chemical reactions in preparation for an exam or group meeting? ReactionFlash(R), a free app, is a great way for you to learn about named reactions and understand their mechanisms. You can also view examples published in peer reviewed literature or patents.

The app covers more than 1’100 named chemistry reactions and was developed in collaboration with Professor Erick M. Carreira from ETH Zurich. Professor Carreira helped to ensure that the app covers all fundamental reactions, from the most well-known to those only Nobel Prize winners can remember.

This app can be used both as a reference and learning tool. Each card shows the reaction, its mechanism, and examples from peer-reviewed literature. You can also take a quiz to test your knowledge.

Reaxys allows you to link into it and find the latest examples of each reaction. Many have experimental details. Reaxys provides experimental information from the literature to enable researchers to discover the most effective synthetic routes and conditions.
