Google Fit is the best way to live a more active and healthier life.
It can be difficult to determine how much and what type of exercise you need to keep your health in check. Google Fit teamed up with the American Heart Association and the World Health Organization to create Heart Points, an activity goal that can improve your health.
You’ll see a huge improvement in your heart health and brain health if you engage in activities that push your heart harder. For every minute of moderate activity, such as walking your dog faster, you’ll get one Heart Point. You will earn double points for more strenuous activities such as running. To reach the AHA/WHO recommended level of physical activity, it takes only 30-minutes per week of brisk walking, five days per week, to improve your sleep quality, reduce heart disease risk, and improve mental health.
Google Fit can also be of assistance to you:
TRACK YOUR WORKOUTS DIRECTLY FROM YOUR PHONE / WATCH
You can get instant insight when you exercise, as well as real-time stats about your walks, runs, and bicycle rides. Fit uses your Android phone’s sensors and Wear OS by Google’s heart rate sensors to track your speed, pace, and route.
CONTROL YOUR GOALS
Check out your daily progress towards your Heart Points or Steps goal. Are you achieving your goals every day? You can easily adjust your goals to continue challenging yourself to reach a healthy heart, mind and body.
MAKE EVERY MOVEMENT Count
Your Android phone or Wear OS Google smartwatch can automatically detect if you run, walk, or cycle throughout the day and will add them to your Google Fit journal. This will ensure that you receive credit for each move. Want extra credit? You can increase the pace of your walks by doing a fast-paced walking exercise and then stepping to the beat. Try a new type of exercise. You can choose from a variety of activities such as pilates, rowing or spinning. Google Fit will track your Heart Points.
CONNECT WITH FAVORITE APPS & DEVICES
Fit will show you information from all your favorite apps and devices so that you can keep track of your progress. These include Lifesum and Wear OS by Google.
You can check in at any time, from anywhere.
