ParkDC allows users to identify and navigate to off-street and on-street parking in Washington, DC. Users can also search for parking spaces by price or time period filters. You can also search for parking rates and availability in real time for Penn Quarter and Chinatown neighborhoods. This area is bounded by H Street NW, 3rd Street NW, and E Street.
parkDC’s goal is to decrease the time it takes to find parking, increase turnover of high-demand spaces, provide better information to motorists, and reduce congestion.
The app provides color-coded estimates of the available on-street parking spaces in specific blocks. These range from very limited (red = 0-2 spots) to abundant (green = 5+ spots). The application provides real-time pricing information that varies according to block and time of day. parkDC displays off-street parking rates and locations in the area. It also syncs with navigation apps to help users find the desired parking location.
parkDC also wants to improve mobility by making it possible to search and filter for Red Top Parking Meters (on street parking spaces reserved for persons with disabilities).
