Opensignal speed tests assess your mobile connectivity. Opensignal performs a 5 second download, upload and ping test to give you an accurate measure of your internet speed. This speed test is performed on all common internet CDN servers. The internet speed test is performed using the middle range of samples.

Map of coverage for speed and connectivity tests

Opensignal’s network coverage maps will help you find the best coverage. This map displays signal strength down to street-level using speed tests and signal data from nearby users. You can compare the coverage of local network operators to find the best local SIM, as well as check internet speed and download speeds in remote areas.

Compass for cell towers

The cell tower compass can show you which direction the strongest or closest signal is coming from. This allows you to use broadband and signal booster technology more precisely. Not all areas of accuracy may be possible because the cell tower compass relies on aggregate data. We are working to improve this feature, and we appreciate your patience.

Statistics on connection availability

Opensignal tracks the time you spend on 3G/4G/5G, WiFi, or no signal. This will allow you to see if you are receiving the service that you have paid for from your network provider. This data can be combined with the speed tests to identify signal and connectivity issues and alert your mobile network operator.
