The WRAL Weather App is an incredible multi-function weather station you can access right on your phone. And each forecast is designed and assembled by a team of six full-time WRAL meteorologists who have in-depth knowledge of North Carolina’s weather.
In the WRAL Weather app, you’ll find weather forecasts for Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Eastern North Carolina. Check the Raleigh weather this week or check the weather this weekend. Plus, the app can keep up with your current location and give the most accurate real-time forecast.
You can easily stay up to date on the weather by receiving forecast information and updates from the WRAL Severe Weather Center in Raleigh, directly through your phone or tablet. You can also find direct links to the Live Cam section of the website and see what’s happening outside right now near you. Get the latest weather forecast, keep track of the cloud cover and rainfall amounts nearby with your Futurecast, and receive severe weather alerts in your area with your exact location.
Add the new WRAL Weather app widgets to your phone or tablet’s home screen.
Get a quick glance at the current conditions, the 3-day forecast and active alerts for your current location.
You can change the location in the widget from your current location. Go into the app. Tap the search bar at the top of the homescreen. Enter another location and tap the star.
Allow push notifications for the app and you’ll enable critical weather alerts, right when you need them. Then, access the interactive iControl radar map and see where severe weather is headed next.

Improved and most bugs fixed over the last year or so. But, still a few annoying bugs will test your patience. The worst being the hourly weather graph that will not scroll, only moving one hour per swipe. Tech support promised to fix it years ago and it's still there. The other bug being certain weather alerts are not reliable, i.e. tornado warnings! That bug is what I would consider critical. So, beware, you may need a redundant app for reliability.

I good app overall. I only give it 4 stars because the weather feed want work anymore, I get on the tab and nothing comes up I would often look at that to get more info on weather because I don't watch news broadcasts themselves anymore, to boaring and depreessing, I also just only care about the weather, and 1 other problem I have is it will say I have a "special statement" for my location but when I go to look at it there isn't one witch confuses and worries me and my app is the latest version

That feed was provided by Twitter, and the service was discontinued when they became X. We're currently scoping out a project to build ourselves an in-house replacement.

The app would be perfect if it didn't glitch regularly, like when you can't hear the volume on the video weather report, even when you click "unmute" and turn up the volume on your phone. It's also frustrating when it keeps giving you lightning updates, even though you turned that notification off. It's also frustrating when you get flash flood warnings for storms that are long gone, like hurricanes that have already moved into the Atlantic. Also, the app fails to open sometimes. Please fix!

After you add our widget to your homescreen, you'll get a glimpse of current conditions and the 3-day forecast for your selected location, plus an alert indicator for any active alerts from your saved locations. Widgets give you one-tap access to the complete forecast from your favorite local weather team.
