When trying to set up the messenger “Telegram,” the error message “Limit exceeded” may appear. What can be done in such cases, and can the message be avoided?

The problem must be addressed or resolved indirectly. If the message “Limit exceeded” appears in your Telegram messenger, you can do the following:

- As soon as the message appears, you should close Telegram and wait.
- Try logging in again later.
- Do not try to perform actions repeatedly, as this could only prolong the block.

Why does the message appear?
The “Limit exceeded” message is due to a security mechanism in the app. The operators want to prevent actions being carried out with the account that violate the terms of use.
- Sometimes, the message appears if you have logged into your Telegram account on too many devices within a very short time.
- The block can be activated if it is suspected that your Telegram account has been hacked.
- The block can also be activated if other requests are sent to Telegram. This is the case, for example, if many posts and messages are sent from an account within a short period. Telegram uses this to prevent spam messages.
- Sometimes, the message also appears if you try to perform a certain action repeatedly despite an error on the part of the Telegram app.
In rare cases, the error is only caused by a poor internet connection. In this case, the app cannot perform certain functions and displays this message instead.
If the “Limit exceeded” message does not disappear even after a long wait, contact Telegram support for further help. Your account may also have been permanently blocked because the terms of use have been violated (go to Telegram support).
