Chrome version 116 is here

A new version of the Chrome browser is rolled out by Google every 4 weeks. Now Chrome version 116 is available.

Chrome version 116 corrects 26 security vulnerabilities
Chrome browser Chrome is updated to version 116 as of now. Chrome 116.0.5845.96 for Mac and Linux and 116.0.5845.96/.97 for Windows include bug fixes and improvements. The update closes 26 vulnerabilities, 8 of which are rated High, 14 Medium, and two Low.

What’s new with version 116 is that while there is a new version of the browser every month, security updates are now released weekly.

The advantage of this is that unscheduled updates then no longer appear so frequently.

With version 116, the Chrome browser will get unique permissions. The new option of one-time permissions for location, microphone, and camera can be selected. The feature will be introduced gradually after the rollout of version 116.

Under chrome://flags/#one-time-permission there is the possibility to try out the new feature already.

Once enabled, you can choose from the following options:

-Allow this time for a one-time permission
-Allow on every visit to always allow access
-Do not allow to not give permission
-“X” button for a temporary denial of the request. The next time you visit the website, you will be asked again
